About Us

Reduce | Reuse | Recycle | Reskill

The 4Rs is an established social enterprise  situated within the recycling plant in Derry/Londonderry. We recycle and repurpose furniture that would otherwise go to landfill.

The 4Rs is a vital service supported under the umbrella of The Resource Centre. The Resource Centre is a dynamic business managing a number of vital services for people in Derry City, including Day Care, Welfare Advice & Training. Established in 1974, they strive to provide a first class service to the community.

We provide programmes for those with disabilities, with the aim to gain skills and experience to overcome barriers to employment, build confidence and develop a range of skills to make the transition into employment.

Our participants in the She Shed and our disability programme, Active Inclusion, use the furniture as projects to reinforce the skills that they learn on our programmes; in this way, we are enhancing skills for members in our local community and also providing a connection point for vulnerable groups to voice previously unspoken worries or issues, in a safe environment.

Here at the 4R’s, we also believe no one should be without a home. We want to highlight the ongoing problem that is hidden homelessness and remove the stigma of being homeless. Our new project #Homesforall aims to help individuals make a house a home. We will try to help any individual referred to us so that the transition from being homeless to finding their new home is that bit easier.
